No, you don't need to bring with you any document or material. You are provided with all documentation. A sample of doc 8168-OPS/611 volume 1 and 2 are given to each trainee. Relevant ICAO annexes are available. Drawing material are at trainees disposal as well as computers to write the report. What you must bring with you are a good mood, a curious mind and a lot of goodwill.
The difficulty with the departure criteria is to select the right parameter value for the appropriate action:
1. To define the average flight path which is only used for publication, definition of the average track ( selection of the right radial , noise abatment ....) you use the 3values of the bank angle 15 °, 20°, 25 ° depending on the distance / altitude to the DER
2. To design the turn protection area the only bank angle to be used is 15°.
In your example, it means:
to define and draw the departure nominal track : you take at 3000 ft of height above DER a bank angle of 20 °
to draw the protection area , turn radius , wind spiral ... you take 15°.
